As soon as TJ finished fall semester we headed to Idaho for Merilee's wedding and the holidays. Because of all the times I have flown by myself I let TJ experience a little of it. The boys were of course perfectly behaved for him and didn't give him any inkling of what it is usually like. At least they were good. We sat on this plane for over an hour then we were told they were having mechanical problems and that we would have to move to another plane. Once we got on the next plane they informed us that no one would be making their connections in Denver and that we would all be spending the night in a hotel in Denver. By the time we got to Denver it was 10:30.
The boys were so exhausted. They also didn't tell us that we would not be able to get our luggage so we spent a good 45 minutes waiting for our luggage that we later learned we could not get. They told us to catch a shuttle outside and go to the Best Western where they would have a reservation waiting for us. We were waiting outside and it was freezing. Cohen was dancing around and Ledger was clinging to my 8 month pregnant and tired body. I asked Cohen if he had to go potty and he just told me he was cold. I decided I would take them inside and told TJ to call me when the shuttle arrived and we would run out. As soon as we got inside Cohen informed me that he DID have to go potty. Great. I called TJ and told him I was going to run Cohen to the bathroom. We ran to the bathroom, both went, and I checked my phone. Sure enough, two missed calls from TJ. I called him back and he tells me to hurry, the driver is trying to leave. Everyones pants get pulled up and we rush out the door. Let me remind you, 8 months prego, carrying a two year old and clinging to a four year olds hand as we run as fast as we can out of the bathroom through the airport all while Cohen is screaming, "we forgot to wash our hands!" I'm sure we were quite the site. We made it to the shuttle and used some hand sanitizer and the boys were out before we even made it to the hotel.
One awesome thing that came out of this adventure was Southwest gave us $800 in vouchers to use on our next trip. Awesome and totally worth it!
The next day we got to the Denver airport bright and early for our flight. Everything looked good and on time. Then 10 minutes before we were supposed to be taking off, they came on the intercom saying everything was great but the pilot was missing so we would be running slightly behind. Really? We made it there though and everything worked out fine.
Merilee's wedding was beautiful and we had so much fun. I will post more about that next. Once everyone was in town we went to the Museum of Idaho. The boys loved playing with their cousins. I really wish we all lived closer so they could play more.

These two had kind of a love hate relationship. We often found one or both crying when they were playing with each other. Someday they'll be best buddies.

On Christmas Eve we had all planned to go see Frozen. The night before Ledger was awake all night crying. I knew he had another ear infection. I decided I better take him in if we were going to have any chance at a pleasant Christmas. I took him to the Dr. and got his antibiotics. We came home and slept while everyone else went to see frozen. The meds made Ledgie a little sick to his tummy but other than that he was fine and doing much better by Christmas Eve night. We dressed the kids up and had them act out the Nativity. Cohen's Shepard ensemble was slightly scandalous.

Christmas morning was crazy. With as many people and kids as we have now it was pretty much chaos. No order just a lot of kids opening presents like crazy.

One of my favorite things the boys got this year was dress up stuff. They got this Dr's outfit and I made them super hero capes and bought masks. I love watching them play super heroes and Dr's. So fun to see their imaginations really come alive.

We had a wonderful Christmas and it was so fun to have my whole family together. It seems to be happening less and less that we can all make it together. I'm so grateful for the amazing siblings that I have. They are honestly my best friends. I love the people they have married too, and I cannot get enough of all of my darling nieces and nephews. The trip home was thankfully uneventful. Although I wouldn't have minded scoring another $800 in vouchers! These two wanted their picture by this motorcycle in the Denver Airport. Such cuties.
