A quick trip to St. Louis

Rachael, TJ's cousin gave her farewell talk Easter Sunday. Because we had just gotten home from Idaho we did not go. We felt bad and wanted to see her before she left so the following weekend we jumped in the car and headed over for conference weekend. I feel bad we didn't get a picture with her. We are so proud of her and know she will do an amazing job sharing the gospel with the good people in the Sao Paulo North, Brazil Mission.

 This was before we left. Ledger has started to show interest in Cohen's bike. We may have to purchase another one. Hopefully we can get by through the summer then get Cohen a big boy bike for his birthday. 

As soon as we got to town guess what we HAD to do? Flying with Papa, you guessed it. I love this picture of them testing the headsets. 

Ledger waited patiently for his turn.

As soon as the were back he ran for it. 

He just taxied back to the hanger but I'm sure it won't be long before he's flying too.

After flying, Nana took us to Chuck E' Cheese. 

Saturday morning we had a yummy breakfast at the Original Pancake house. 

After breakfast we headed to the zoo. Apparently everyone in St. Louis had the exact same idea. It took us over an hour to get to the zoo, and there was no parking so we turned around and went to the Butterfly house in Chesterfield instead.

Then we played at the park. We also had a ride on the carousel, but Ledger hated it.

 Ledger loved this little chair. Side story. We gave the boys a bath Sunday morning and TJ forgot to drain the water. We were watching conference  sleeping, and we heard Ledger playing in the bathroom. TJ quickly got up to make sure he wasn't playing in the toilet and found him fully dressed playing in the bathtub. These crazy boys keep us busy!

Bunny-Bunny Comes to Town

While we were in Idaho we played the game bunny-bunny how's your neighbor with my dad. Cohen loved the game and when we started talking about the Easter bunny coming the name carried over. He kept asking when bunny-bunny was coming, and telling us what he wanted bunny-bunny to bring him.

 We got back from Idaho just in time to celebrate Easter. Saturday night we died Easter eggs and the boys loved it! I  need to have a big whisk for each of my kids though, they did not enjoy sharing. 

Papa  and GG sent a little Easter package with some extra candy and cute new summer clothes.

 We did an Easter dinner with our neighbors and then an Easter egg hunt. Ledger thought it was funny to put the basket on his head. 

 And they're off! Guess who's out it front?

Ledger even picked up on the concept quickly.

Before the dinner and egg hunt we had the boys do their easter baskets. Cohen has been really into Lego Star Wars so Bunny-bunny got them both Lightsabers. They were in heaven!

 We had a wonderful Easter. I think next year we will try to do bunny-bunny stuff on Saturday and focus more on the true meaning of Easter on Sunday. 

Spring Break

For our spring break the boys and I headed to Idaho. TJ had to go to Seattle on his week off to present his research he did the previous summer. Because he was finishing his last week of midterms the week after spring break the boys and I just stayed in Idaho for 2 weeks. My sister Merilee had the second week off too, so we got to spend lots of time with her. 

 Flying with a 3 year old is easy peasy. Flying with an almost 18 month old is exhausting. Ledger wanted to be down and crawl around and he was confined to a very small amount of space. Window clings were the one thing that kept his attention longer then 5 minutes. It was a long 3 hour flight, but we made it and there wasn't too much crying. 

I did an awful job of taking pictures while I was home. We did a lot of fun things but only a few got captured. In summary. We were very spoiled as usual by grandma and grandpa. 

Root Beer floats for everyone, every night! 

My parents have this awesome new place a few miles from their house called I-jump. It is basically full of trampolines and foam pits. The boys loved it. We went twice while we were there. 

 A lot of the pictures are blurry because these boys did what the do best. Move!

TJ did have some fun too. He ate lots of yummy food and loved the crab Seattle had to offer.

 TJ sent me this picture of these flowers with a caption of "flowers for you." My dad thought it was a brilliant (cheap) way to send flowers.

After two weeks we were sad to leave family, but happy to get home to TJ. The boys were pretty good on the plane ride home. Ledger fell asleep 5 minutes before we landed. Seriously.  I always get nervous to fly with the boys by myself but in the end it is always worth it. I think a 3 hour flight is my max though.
