A Quick Trip to Idaho and Basement Flood

I decided that I need to take one last quick trip to Idaho before Ledger turned two and before new baby came. I knew that it would be a while before I attempted to travel with three kids by myself, and two although stressful is totally doable. Note to self: even if the layover seems short, it is ALWAYS worth it to bring a stroller. There were a couple of times that the boys ran in opposite directions in the airport and I chased after Ledger and just hoped that I could find Cohen when I got a hold of Ledge. We had so much fun while in Idaho. So much that I didn't take hardly any pictures. We went to I-jump a couple of times. My boys absolutely love this place. I really need to find one close to us here in KC.

I also helped throw a bridal shower for my sister while I was in town. It was a lot of fun and turned out really good. You'll just have to take my word for it though cause I have absolutely no pictures. During the shower, my dad and Kennedy took the boys to see Turbo. Cohen loved it and Ledger did pretty good through the first half of the movie. The boys got to pick and eat carrots out of Grandpa's garden. They think it's so cool that Grandpa grows his own carrots. Grandpa also set up the trampoline and the boys could've jumped on it all day everyday.

Right before heading to the airport Grandma took us to Lunch at Chick-fil-a. This is actually a sign that Cohen made into a hat for himself.

This tiny turd loved the milkshake and pretty much screamed anytime anyone else had any.

While I was gone poor TJ had a huge project. I called him one morning and then in the middle of our conversation he said, "I have to go," and hung up. The freshwater pipe to our toilet broke off from the wall and apparently had been spraying from somewhere around 3am to 9am. Our basement was a disaster. Neighbors and ward members came quickly to empty out the basement and get big fans on the carpet downstairs and part of the main floor that had flooded also. All of our DVD cases were pretty much destroyed and one of our ottomans had horrible mold but other than that we didn't really lose anything really valuable.

TJ ripped out all of the ceiling and drywall that were to wet to save.

He re-dry walled, textured, painted, had the carpet re-stretched, carpet pads replaced, and everything back int its place before I even walked in the door. I honestly wouldn't have even known anything had happened had it not been for all the pictures. I was so grateful it happened while we were gone. It would have been a nightmare keeping the boys only upstairs for two weeks.

The Town homes covered the cost of the fans and all of the main floor damage. Unfortunately we had to pay for everything that had to be redone in the basement. Thankfully TJ got on top of it fast and he was able to do most of the work himself.

TJ Turns 30!

Ledgie is obsessed with shoes. Especially mine. Here he is modeling my boots that go clear up to the the top of his thighs.

Olivia, Cohen, and Lexi have a little refreshing treat.

I was super excited for post season. I made these little tomahawks for the me and the boys to experience "choptober" to the fullest. Unfortunately we didn't get to use them long. Boo! It was still fun through and Ledger still frequently does the chop. There is always next year!

I'm really sad because I didn't get any pictures of TJ's surprise birthday party. Friday I picked up 60 glazed donuts and 2 dozen donut holes from Donut King. The Bartholomew's made hot chocolate, and the Horrocks made hot wassail. TJ's mom and Jay came in town for the celebration. When TJ got home from school we went to pick up Jay from the airport then went to Chick-fil-a (it's pretty much where we go for everyone's birthday). Then we headed home and Cohen had his first violin recital. He did such a good job and I will try to upload the video later. During the recital our neighbors were busily setting up in our back yard. I then had one of the neighbors text TJ to see if he wanted to come out for a fire. TJ went and looked and all of our friends and neighbors were outside waiting. It was so much fun and we are lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. I was so proud of myself for pulling off the surprise and we had such a fun night!

The next morning was TJ's actual birthday so we opened gifts first thing. The boys were so excited to give them their gift...

They got him Croods, a hot wheels car, and sour patch watermelons. They picked it all out on their own.

They don't get much cuter than these three.

A tie and giant bag of pistachios from Pops and Gem

We had roll up pancakes for breakfast, went shopping at Zona Rosa, Noodles and Company for lunch and headed home for a quick rest. Then we had a sitter come watch the boys and we went down to the Plaza to eat at Houston's. It was TASTY!!! Then we headed over to our favorite cupcakery right next to Houston's and got a few of our favorites. Mirae and Jay left Sunday mid morning and we spent the rest of the day watching conference and working on that large bag of pistachios. The boys are crazy about them and eat them faster than we can crack them.

It turned into a whole weekend celebration and this guy definitely deserved it. He is such an amazing husband and dad. I really wonder how we got so lucky?! Thirty looks good on you Teej! We love you!!!

Oh September

I think I was trying to lure TJ home from studying, so I took a picture of the dinner that was ready and waiting at home for him.

Found these sneaky ones with my phone behind the chair watching Netflix.

We sent Daddy a picture...

this is what he sent back! No, I do not like TJ's beard!

Just a couple crazy kids being cute...

Just a little cheese triangle dipped in yogurt, yum!

This cute girl made me an aunt for the first time 8 years ago. My parent got to be with her to celebrate her birthday and baptism. My mom sent me these cute pictures. So proud of this amazing little girl and her good decisions. I'm so glad my kids have her to look up to.

Ledgie...doing his thing.

And my sweet Coey.

YW self defense night. Don't know where we found this wig but thought Nichole made a pretty good creeper in it.

My cute neighbor Alexis

On September 18th we went to find out the sex of baby Bunnell #3. We thought it would be fun to take Cohen with us since he kind of understood what was happening. He thought we were going to actually see the baby though and bring him/her home. Nope, sorry kid. When he saw baby not the screen he just kept saying, "it looks like a monster, not a baby!" He asking me when I was going to spit the baby out? If only it were that simple Co. We had to tell him that we had to wait till after Christmas then it would be almost time for our baby to come.

When they told us we were having a girl we were in  shock. I had no idea which it was but I was definitely leaning towards boy, I think mostly because I didn't want to be disappointed if it was another boy. I was immediately overwhelmed though, which is something I totally didn't expect. I had boys, I had all it down, I knew what to do with boys and how to handle them. In a lot of ways I felt like I was starting over with getting a girl. We were so excited though and the whole rest of the time at the doctor and the way home kept saying how we couldn't believe it. On the way home we stopped at Hyvee to get a pink balloon bouquet to tie to our front porch railing so all of our neighbors could see our exciting news. I think I thought it was super clever, but everyone else seemed confused by why we had an it's a girl balloon bouquet. Oh well. It mad a cute picture to send family though to announce our fun news!

That weekend my friend Lisa came over and we started to make a few bows and headbands, which got me really excited for our sweet little girl. Ledgie was sweet enough to model one of the bows/headbands for me!

Pregnancy #3 up to this point was definitely my easiest pregnancy yet. I kept running and made it to my goal of running till I was 20 weeks pregnant. I should have set a higher goal, cause I quit as soon as I hit it! I got queasy during the day but as long as I snacked constantly I felt pretty darn good. Around the 12 week mark I started to have some pain from my umbilical hernia. I backed off on running a little bit and tried to eat healthier and it subsided and it really never bothered me the rest of the pregnancy, thank goodness. At 20 weeks I had gained a little over 10 pounds. With Cohen I threw up every morning from 7 weeks to 14 weeks. With Ledger I had good days where I didn't throw up at all, and bad days where I threw up a lot. I even threw up the day we found out he was a boy, so it seemed like I was sick a lot longer with him. And with baby girl, no throwing up! I think the running actually helped a lot with that. I would feel so sick, but after a run I always felt so good.
